Updated SME toolkit and 12 Steps from ICO

On Thursday the ICO launched an updated data protection toolkit for SMEs and a relaunch to its “12 steps to take to prepare for GDPR” guidance.

Interestingly on the latter there’s a link through to the ICO’s recent consent consultation – it’s not clear whether this is an indication that the consultation is actually what their advice on consent will be, as opposed to an amended version based on the “significant” response they received to the consultation…
